I am a qualified and successful Science teacher at a local high school. I also mentor, coach and tutor Science students to help them meet their target grades, pass exams or simply to help them understand whatever they might have failed to understand in the classroom. I provide relaxed as well as a stimulating and challenging lessons, tailor-made to the needs of each student.
I use school progress reports as well as my own assessment tools and activities to identify the student`s area of need. I then use short and varied multi-sensory learning activities to develop the identified weaknesses to the required standard. I always aim to create a calm and engaging atmosphere, conducive to learning. Most of my tutees were interested in exam success and one of the key activities I did with them was to guide them in learning how to answer exam questions in order to get top marks. It is amazing how many marks are lost through failure to answer the question!

Availability: Weekdays,term time - evenings only.
During half term - days and evenings by arrangement only.
Some weekends - days and evenings.

Experience: I have over 20 years teaching experience, with the last 12 years at my current school. I teach from KS3 to KS4 Science and at KS5, I specialise in Chemistry. I am well experienced in teaching the AQA AS and A2 Chemistry, OCR A and B or Salters Chemistry. Moreover, I am also an examiner with two of the major UK exam boards. I have been tutoring for the past 10 years.
