Information about Kisaan
Hi, I`m Kisaan and I am currently in my third year of Dental School at the University of Birmingham. I studied at Queen Elizabeth Grammar School for boys and I attained 9 A* and 4As and at A level attained 3As. I have many years experience in tutoring and would love to excel the performances of more students.
Availability: I am fully flexible on the weekends and free evenings on the weekdays.
Willing to travel: 20 miles
Experience: I will be tutoring Biology, Chemistry, Maths and English (KS1, KS2 AND KS3). I hope to help students reach the grade they want for the career they want to pursue. As a patient and motivated person, I hope to centre all of my sessions around the student themselves and what they want to achieve. I know that struggling with concepts can be demotivating, but I hope my patience and understanding will encourage each and every student to keep on going! All of the subjects I am able to tutor are topics that interest me greatly and topics that I tackled which enabled me to obtain very high marks. Therefore being a student, I believe I will easily relate to the student, as I did my exams not too long ago, thus I believe the tips and advice I provide will be very relevant and significant. Also, with my past students having done really well I believe I can maximise students academic potential and enable them to obtain outstanding results.
Having tutored since the age of 15 for KS3 and GCSE students I make sure that from the first session, I will try to establish the level of understanding the student already has. I will then understand what their preferred method of learning is and adapt my resources accordingly. It is important to me to ensure that the session encompasses exactly what the student wants to cover. To achieve this, I will ask what topics the student wants to cover for the next session. That way I am able to prepare resources and questions for them. This will ensure that the session is made specifically for the student and they gain exactly what they want from it.
I hope to direct them towards doing as many exam questions as possible alongside theory. I`m a huge advocate of exam questions, as they allow different theories to be put into various contexts and further develop understanding. My aim is to focus on students weakest areas. To do this I will explain the concept behind the topic, get them to explain their understanding of it until they are confident. I would then ask them questions or go through exam questions with them to show how they can apply this knowledge to different styles of questions.
I will try to make these sessions as fun as possible because I believe enjoying learning motivates students and helps relieve stress. I will share some of the learning techniques that have helped me throughout my study so the student feels empowered to study independently.
Looking forward to meeting you soon!
