Information about Jerome

Waleed J (Student of A Level Chemistry and Biology) - “Simply put, Jerome has been the best tutor I could’ve asked for.

He comes with an extremely refreshing style of teaching which enforces a low-stress style of learning, whilst ensuring work is maximised at the same time. As a tutor he uses a very holistic view when understanding his students and looks at various different aspects within their lifestyle before coming up with a plan to help ensure the desired goal is not only met, but exceeded.
I am beyond grateful for all that he has taught me, not only academically but also the vital life lessons too, such as organisational skills.

Having had two previous tutors before Jerome, I can hands down say that he has been the most effective tutor in helping me attain my goal of an A* grade and I cannot recommend him enough.”

Hi, I’m Jerome and I am a well-mannered online tutor with great interpersonal skills and a passion for education. I know what it takes to achieve A* in current A Level Chemistry and Biology as I am a recent success story. Having received a triple A* results certificate in 2018, I am looking to share my exam secrets with anybody who wants to flourish in these subjects.

I loved working as a Maths and Biology tutor at my sixth form college. I developed a deep understanding of my A level subjects beyond the curriculum as I worked on The Human Whipworm Genome Project, my EPQ (“How should humanity respond to the antibiotic resistance crisis?”) and prepared for the Chemistry and Biology Olympiads. My own interest translates into teaching which is genuinely engaging.
Moreover, I have loved all my jobs working with young people. My responsibility as leader of the ‘Succeed in Secondary’ workshop taught me how to help students from all ability levels develop the fundamental skills necessary for GCSE success.
I look forward to meeting you.

Availability: Diamond Lesson (Basic Skills Lesson on TutorHunt)
Get your notebook out because this lesson is worth remembering for life. In one hour, I will teach you the complete research-based strategy that will give any student the tools they need to unlock their full potential in knowledge-based exams (and more!) whilst also allowing their particular learning methods to direct how they execute the strategy.
This lesson is offered to anybody, of any age, of any subject, of any qualification level. However, the lesson is designed especially for A Level students of Biology and Chemistry who are striving to excel in their exams.

I offer services in Biology and Chemistry as my subject knowledge goes far beyond the curriculum, enabling me to impart a strong understanding of the material in question. I am a firm believer that if you truly understand a concept, you will have no problem remembering it as long as you use my tried-and-tested memorization method. Spaced-repetition was not only the key to my own success but there is overwhelming evidence to suggest that it is the key to your success too. I found a way to use spaced repetition to cement A level science content in my memory and I even adapted the method for retaining mathematical procedures. I then combined the technique with another evidence-based strategy. The 5 “p”s:
1. Process
2. Play-back
3. Practice
4. Perfect
5. Produce

Educational scientists found that this is the way that the human brain retains knowledge best. It sounds simple, but it took me two years to research, experiment and formulate how this strategy can be executed by a student. I want to teach you what I discovered. I want to teach you something which will prove invaluable throughout your education and throughout your life. I want to teach you the quickest ways to understand new information from lessons, the most efficient ways to memorize, the easiest ways to practice exam skills, the most reliable ways to fill in the gaps of your understanding, and finally the most effective ways to ensure you produce extraordinary results as you prepare during the weeks leading up to the exam.

It was this strategy that set me apart from my peers and delivered my outstanding grades on results day. I offer you in my Diamond lesson, a great way to get you started with regular lessons.

Studying with Jerome was a great experience. He didn’t pass over any detail. He made sure I understood what ever stage we were at before moving over to the next one. I came out with more clarity. I will highly recommend him
