Currently completing an integrated Masters Degree at the University of Oxford predicted a First Class honours. I have been studying at Oxford for four years now and have offers for Graduate Entry Medicine. My main area of expertise is science however I have wide interests in history and politics too. My A Levels include Biology, Chemistry, History & Mathematics. I am a confident tutor in all these subjects (of varying degree e.g. Mathematics only till A Levels and unfortunately not at university level). I have two native languages that I am fluent in English and Arabic.
Availability: Flexible. Weekday evenings and weekends.
Willing to travel: 10 miles
Experience: I have previously tutored 10 students in GCSE and A Level Mathematics & Chemistry one student achieved an A-grade despite being predicted a D-grade in Chemistry AS Level. I have also founded a society at the University of Oxford which works with students in London states schools with low progression to higher education. This society, OxSpire, encourages academic debate amongst students and allows students to go beyond the syllabus, an important tool to be successful in applications to top universities e.g. University of Oxford. In addition, I have previously received an offer to work with an independent school, teaching Chemistry.
My approach:
Planned lessons, including writing out topic summaries to aid students understand difficult concepts. The pace in which we cover topics is dependent on each student I endeavour to deliver personalised tutoring sessions that encourage students to understand whole concepts so that they can tackle any question they may get in examinations! My teaching style, I would say, is imaginative and want to always keep students engaged therefore, I try to use real-life examples to help students de-tangle topics, imagine concepts in a simplified format, and for them to keep asking questions.
