Joshua (Tutor in London)
As a young tutor I can offer a unique take on many issues that commonly arise for students. I studied Natural Sciences at Pembroke College, Cambridge University. This course started very broad and so I have studied Maths, Chemistry, Physics and Cell Biology at a university level. My aim is to pursue post-graduate study in Chemical Biology and eventually work in academic research and university level teaching. I achieved an A* in A-level Maths, Physics and Chemistry and A-grades in AS Biology and Further Maths.
Availability: I am available seven days a week
Willing to travel: 4 miles
Experience: My experience teaching is diverse. I have taught extensively on a one-to-one basis with students all the way up to A-level. In addition to my private work, I was also paid by my former school to tutor struggling GCSE students to pass their exams a year early - all of my students passed with a C grade or higher. I have recently gained experience in teaching classes of A-level students core subjects and also given talks on applying to Oxbridge.
Students vary greatly in their needs and I am very quick to judge how to adapt myself to best suit their needs. I am proactive in my approach to teaching, talking through problems in a coherent manner and always checking that the concepts have gone in. If a student is required to pass exams, I can help with exam technique and how to harvest the most marks. I have a lot of experience with Dyslexic/Dyspraxic students and can help equip them with the tools to overcome this difficulty that affects so many.
I offer Skype tutoring at a reduced rate. Using Skype is a great way to get top-class tuition and save precious time. I also use a live whiteboard so students can easily see exactly what I write on their computer screen in real tim
