Hi, my name is George, and I’m a second year BSc (Hons) Computer Science student at Newcastle University. After graduation next year, I plan to undertake a PGCE with a view to a career teaching computer science.

Computer Science/Computing/Maths:
I averaged a ‘First’ throughout the first year of my Computer Science degree and am currently on track to repeat this in my second year.

I enjoy tutoring, am very personable and have an excellent rapport with students. I run online sessions via Zoom, tailoring each session to the topic(s) the student wishes to cover. However, it’s often helpful if the session reinforces the topic they are currently studying in class.

In a typical session, we first review content and methods before applying what has been learned. Closer to the exams, the focus changes to revision and exam technique.

Python:
Python is the programming language most often chosen by schools and colleges as an introduction to coding. I’ve been using Python for 8 years, from KS3 through GCSE, A-Level, and now in my undergraduate studies.

Availability: I am currently available for hourly online sessions between 4.00pm and 7.00pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

Experience: Before tutoring online, I was in demand, tutoring the children of family friends through their GCSE Maths and Computer Science. Now, I thoroughly enjoy online tutoring, particularly receiving feedback from students on their improved marks/grades in homework and exams.
