I am a qualified Lawyer and a university Law Lecturer for both under and post graduate study, including GDL/LPC

I specialise in: Equity & Trusts; Land Law; Wills; Intestacy; Tort; Emloyment; Contract; Family Law and Civil Litigation.

I have taught legal study skills in both Further and Higher Education and am adept at helping students get the best from their learning and revising.

I am an experienced examiner and have written papers for Land, Wills, Trusts and Tort. I have a proven track record with exam pass rates for students and am able to humanise my subjects, thereby making the academic more palatable for those that struggle with the formality of lectures and seminars. At the same time I continuously encourage and test learners to maximise their potential.

I offer one to one tutoring, via Skype, email or FaceTime and I particularly welcome overseas students studying for an English Law Degree.

Tutorials are £70 per hour for individual lessons but bespoke packages can be arranged on request for long term bookings. I do not charge for our initial introductory conversation, and subsequent discussion of your needs (up to 30 minutes). But do please note, I do not offer the first actual lesson for free.

I do offer discounted rates for pre-booked/paid block tuition, as long as they are redeemed within an allotted timescale, this can vary according to need, but as a guideline:

3 prepaid hours will be valid for one calendar month from date of purchase, 5 for 2 months and 10 for 4 months. Please enquire for further details.

Experience: I have been a law lecturer for over 14 years and have extensive teaching experience on a wide variety of Law modules for LLB LPC and CILEx qualifications. I have written modules and handbooks for the LLB subjects I have taught.

I am a member of the Institute for Learning (IFL) (now the Society for Education and Training) and of The Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEx)

I am a qualified lawyer with experience of working in a busy practice, which I draw on in my teaching to create a practical application of the law.

In my experience I have found that from students’ perspectives, a combination of subject knowledge, willingness to help and inspirational teaching methods makes a good university lecturer. Being humorous and able to provide speedy feedback are also important factors. I love seeing my students develop as they learn and more importantly, understand what it is they are doing and how to apply that knowledge.
