am an experienced school teacher of nearly 20 years experience.
I know the Edexcel Politics A Level and OCR GCSE Citizenship exam specifications inside out. I have particular experience of delivering the Global Politics Paper 3 content.
My sessions will include quizzes (who doesn’t love a quiz!), discussion around overall topic themes, case study analysis and how to layer exam paragraphs with Knowledge, Analysis and Evaluation. My top tips for exam success - know how exam questions can be asked (there are only so many combinations per topic) and know the strongest topic essay arguments
I will also recommend useful resources (including podcasts, TV documentaries and news websites) to boost wider knowledge - textbooks are only the basis for learning!
My minimum expectation of students is to be prepared to explore their inner-geek when it comes to studying Politics! The ability to have simple conversations about Political issues will enable you to write in detail on any topic without even realising you are learning - brilliant! My particular subject interests are on UK Elections, Prime Ministers, the relationship between government branches and international organisations such as the UN, EU and NATO.
I have “been there and done that” with hundreds of students in my career. Whatever your ability level, confidence level or exam grade target - I want to help you!
