I am a graduate of Architecture and PGCE(Secondary) Maths). I have taught Secondary and University students.
I am an approachable, knowledgeable and experienced maths and Science teacher who is passionate and patient in helping students of different capabilities to improve, achieve and surpass their learning objectives.
I am interested and have successfully taught and mentored pupils from year 7 up to year 11 and successfully tutored both Key Stage 3 and GCSE level pupils.
I have tutored year 7 pupils who have struggled with Maths and Science in their first year in Secondary school, year 11 students preparing for their GCSE exams, as well as other students from other year groups needing help to understand and improve their knowledge of Science and Maths.
I aim to provide an improvement in grades and help students enjoy learning and have a positive approach to learning and achieving subject objectives.
Availability: After school, evening and weekends

Experience: I have taught and mentored students for over 10 years and have been successful helping Secondary school students achieve targeted Maths and Science grades in GCSE.
Experienced at assessing students capabilities and remedying problems, building confidence and make students enjoy studying and becoming enthusiastic learners.
I tutored students who have achieved 9`s in their Maths, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Combined Science GCSE exams.
I have tutored Adult learners to achieve required certifications in Maths and Science.

Our son is in Y11 and during lockdown / home schooling his grades and enthusiasm dropped significantly. Maurice contacted me before the tuition began to discuss in detail our son’s confidence with maths and how he was finding the subject now back at school. Maurice has a very patient manner and my son now looks forward to the lessons without feeling intimidated by other students. He has even agreed to study over the Christmas break which is a real breakthrough!! It is clear the lessons are improving his confidence and completing the homework shows his increased commitment. We are now hoping that the GCSE exams go ahead in 2022 so that my son can receive the grade he deserves. We have no hesitation in recommending Maurice to other students who are struggling and looking to increase their confidence in the subject.

Maiurice was a great help to my teenage son, who was finding it hard to pull the knowledge together to perform to his best ability in the maths tests- ones that have been replacing GCSEs during Covid. Maurice “can-do” attitude, & understanding of the maths subject focused on building a strong knowledge base from ground-up . Maurice has provided a great inspiration and support. I would thoroughly recommend him as a tutor.
