Information about Jim

Hello - glad you`re here.

I`m Jim, a fully qualified and experienced Physics Teacher. Currently I am teaching Physics, General Science and KS3 Maths full time at a mainstream school on the outskirts of N/W London.

My strength in teaching Science and particularly Physics is the ability to identify what the student needs in order to improve and address those areas in ways students find enjoyable, enabling and memorable and it is this which contributes to my knack of being able to get students to understand "Physics"..

I always introduce myself to my classes by including the statement that there are no `silly` or `childish` questions in physics, because most of these types of questions have led to Nobel prizes, the only `silly` questions are the ones that aren`t asked. By the way, I rarely answer questions, I`m more likely to ask leading questions so that students can see that they are becoming more skilled in the topic, building both confidence in themselves and an effective way for them to ask themselves leading questions.

"Physics is really simple - most students need to practice breaking down complex processes into simple, logical steps"

Finally a question -
Biology is `The study of Life`, Chemistry is `The study of electron bonding`, Physics is what ?
I`ll provide my definition at the start of the first free lesson.
But, if you are in KS4, you`ll start with a list of topics. If you`re in KS5, hopefully you`ll understand what is common to all of the topics. And that was a hint.

Availability: In light of the lockdown because of Covid-19, I intend to make myself available over the summer.
If you are one of a small study group, I am happy to discus rates (students will still need to purchase contact details on an individual basis)

If you are interested in my tutoring over the summer please email me as to when and where you would want this in order to discus it.
