I am an approachable and friendly teacher and can offer the following:

- One to one lessons on beginners piano and intermediate level on the Clarinet.
- Tutoring to help GCSE and A Level music students with the listening element of the exam.
- Tutoring to develop composition work and achieving the highest possible marks in the performance module.

Over the years I have seen students choose GCSE and A Level performance pieces which are beyond their capabilities. I can help with listening to their performances and suggesting areas for improvement according to exam board specifications with a view to achieving the highest marks possible.

Availability: Weekday evenings from 6pm.

British Kodaly Academy Summer School Training, developing my approach in teaching primary aged children.

I have ten years experience working in the classroom from Early Years up to Key Stage 5 level. In my experience it is a challenge to cater towards all the different musical abilities of both GCSE and A Level students in the classroom. Some students are able to aurally recognise musical features with ease, having played music for a long time, others have difficulty recognising instruments. With the listening paper still worth 40% of overall marks it is important to develop these skills as acutely as possible. I can help with practice listening questions and offering strategies to help with questions such as musical dictation. I have taught both the Edexcel and AQA GCSE Specification and A Level AQA Specification.
