Hi,
I`m Lottie, I am an English and Art tutor living in Truro, Cornwall.
I have a passion for classic literature, and a love for all things creative! I am a friendly, bubbly person, who really enjoys sharing knowledge and new skills with others.
I help students in all aspects of English Literature, from KS2 to GCSE. I always enjoy the analysis of texts and passing this enthusiasm on to my students is important to me. I am passionate about reading and very knowledgeable about children`s books too.
I provide my students with any help they may need during the transition between Primary and Secondary education, or through their GCSE years. I have an empathetic approach to tutoring, and pride myself on being able to adapt to my leaners` specific needs and abilities.
As well as English Literature I provide tutoring in Art and Design. I have a clear understanding of what makes a good sketchbook and help my students` improve their annotation skills, choose appropriate artist research and analyse the work of other artists, helping them get their sketchbooks into the higher grade boundaries. I have also helped younger students with the basic techniques of art and design, building their confidence to try new materials and styles, which they can take into their school art lessons and extra curricular activities.

Experience: I have a BA Hons in Humanities from the Open University, specialising in Literature and Art History, in which I got a 1st. I also have a Foundation Diploma in Art, Design and Media. From a teaching perspective I have been working with KS2 children for a number of years running workshops for schools, and I also have experience working with post 16 students in Art and Design.
