I am a Junior doctor and have been tutoring for 6years. I completed an additional BSc in Sports and Exercise Medicine. At the moment I work in Trauma and Orthopaedics as well as A&E.

I mainly tutor on Biology, Chemistry or Computer Science GCSE and A-level. I also tutor Physics and Maths up to GCSE. I offer bespoke medical school interview practice sessions, tailored to individual medical school interview styles and help prepare for the UCAT and BMAT. In addition, I also help to review personal statements.

I always focus on understanding what the student wants to achieve or requires additional help, and implement changes to assist them in their learning. Teachers often don`t have enough time go through difficult content in sufficient detail and I aim to break down this barrier by simplifying complex concepts. For example, many of my students have struggled with A level chemistry mechanisms and I have worked through guided examples on the screen, using visuals and diagrams. Being a science degree holder and newly qualified doctor, I assist my students in developing these core exam technique skills to benefit them all the way through their university degrees and future careers.

I also develop my own questions for the students to work through. I am also happy to help students with their own schoolwork in addition to their lesson.

Please note, I’m getting many enquires at the moment and as such have to set my rates competitively. I believe that I offer a high quality bespoke experience to all my students and I’m always an arm’s length away for questions, even if I do not tutor them anymore. Every hour tutored, is an hour less that I am doing a locum shift as a doctor. Tutoring brings me great joy, as I see my students develop into young academics however it also has to be worth my time commitment. I’m also not a clockwatcher and am more concerned about finishing a topic than running out of time. Therefore, my rates are now non-negotiable and are reflective of the standard of tutoring.

Availability: Generally weekends however I have night shifts and weekend shifts occasionally. When these happen I will reschedule the lesson to another day.

I have also led workshops on applying to medicine including UCAT/BMAT and entry to medicine/interview preparation.

I took a research year out to complete a BSc in Sports and Exercise Medicine, whilst also completing research in paediatric surgery. I have also carried out hospital audits to improve care for NHS oncology patients.

All of my students have gone on to study STEM subjects at Oxbridge and medical schools.
