Information about Emma
I`m a qualified secondary maths teacher with experience of teaching KS3, GCSE, FSMQ and A-level maths in addition to over 1000 hours of tutoring experience in my career.
As a full time tutor, I’m lucky enough to be able to dedicate all my time and focus on providing an excellent service and helping my students to make as much progress as possible. Having me as your tutor doesn’t just include the lessons that you pay for, but marked homeworks, email support, providing revision sheets and other materials, extensive progress tracking and regularly keeping parents/guardians updated.
My degree is in Mathematics with Statistics from the University of York and I`ve previously been a statistical analyst for the government, providing me with key insight into the application of maths within professions. I am an experienced exam marker - giving me a great perspective on what the exam boards are looking for and how to adapt exam technique to maximise results.
My tutoring approach is to identify any gaps in the student`s understanding and build these skills. I also focus a lot on improving confidence and exam technique so that students have the necessary skills needed to be able to fully demonstrate the knowledge that they have.

Experience: My degree is in Maths with Statistics from the University of York. As a teacher, I had experience of teaching all ability groups across KS3, GCSE, FSMQ and A-level. I have over 1000 hours of tutoring experience in KS3, GCSE (both foundation and higher, across all 3 main exam boards) and A-level (across all 3 main exam boards) as well as adult-learning.

I recently completed my A-Level exams, and I must say that Emma`s tutoring in Math was truly exceptional. I am absolutely delighted with her support and friendliness throughout the learning process. Not only were her lessons well-organised, but they were also highly effective in helping me grasp the key concepts. Emma`s expertise in Pure Mathematics was particularly valuable in deepening my understanding of the subject. Her patience and understanding as a tutor are truly remarkable. I wholeheartedly recommend her without hesitation!

As someone who really struggled with the jump of A level in maths and found it particularly difficult, I was working at grade C but I am now at a strong grade A, thanks to Emma, and that is all in the space of 6 months. Emma provides a range of useful resources, including notes, videos and exam questions, which have highlighted my weaknesses. After every session, I am set specific homework to work through and return, and if there are any areas where I have gone wrong or do not understand, Emma goes through them with me until I am confident, which has proven to be a very efficient and effective way of securing my knowledge. Emma is a very patient tutor and clearly wants me to succeed, evident through the time and effort she puts into the sessions. I cannot recommend Emma highly enough.

Emma is a first class Maths tutor. She taught my 16 year old daughter and increased her knowledge and mathematical ability from a level 4 to a level 7. My daughter was put at great ease with Emmas approach and her confidence within this subject couldn’t of been better. I highly recommend Emma and would be more than happy to reach out to her again if need be in the future for my other child.
