Hi I`m Alex, an experienced teacher and scholar with a PhD in English Language and Literature. I was born in Germany and have taught English and German as foreign languages for 10 years as well as Literature classes at university. I particularly enjoy teaching German for beginners and intermediates; English for all levels, especially exam preparation for IELTS etc.; and Academic Writing in English. I can help students with essay writing and exam preparation for GCSE and A-Level in the Humanities, especially English and History. I am an expert in Shakespeare and Renaissance Literature and History, and I have previously acted as doctoral co-supervisor. I have several years of experience as a language teacher for Brazilians / Portuguese speakers and I am bilingual in English and German.

Alexander is an outstanding tutor. We`ve been through a few, and without a doubt, he is by far, the best of them. His calm and patience coupled with a wealth of knowledge in his subjects had a great impact in my son`s learning progress. He is also very professional and punctual and I can`t recommend enough.

Alex is very patient with my daughter who is not very confident around new people. She cannot praise him enough in how he is building her confidence in acquiring the knowledge she needs to pass her GCSE German. He is very calm and uses various strategies to help her to achieve the best out of each session.

the German of my 2 daughters who should be fluent at it... Alex has a very structured approach (especially for the German grammar) which I believe is essential to learn this language properly. He is a great tutor that I would highly recommend!
