Hi my name is Katy and I am a school teacher, currently working in an independent school in Buckinghamshire, with over 10 years’ experience tutoring children aged between 5 and 16.

I have been working in a Year 2 classroom for the past two years. Before that, I have worked in Year 1 and a joint Year 5/6 class. My favourite subjects to teach are Maths, Reading, Phonics and Literacy.

I have extensive experience teaching online, delivering engaging and well-structured lessons to both small groups and 1:1 pupils. I adapt lessons to suit online learning while keeping children motivated, confident and making strong progress.

I have recently achieved a distinction in an MSc Primary Education, focusing on maths confidence in primary children. I completed a Primary PGCE with a maths specialism in 2020 and also hold a Geography BSc degree (2:1). All three degrees were completed at the University of Southampton.

Overall, my experience has led me to be an exciting, passionate and fun teacher who creates an engaging learning environment where every child can succeed.

Availability: I am available between 5:30 and 7pm Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evening. I am very flexible during the school holidays and can offer earlier and weekend lessons.

Experience: I bring a broad range of teaching and tutoring experience, having supported pupils across different age groups and learning needs. My work includes 1:1 tutoring, small group teaching and whole-class instruction, both in person and online. With recent classroom experience, I am confident in planning targeted lessons that align with the current curriculum and help pupils build skills, confidence and independence.
