Kathryn

Hi, my name is Kathryn (Katy for short). I am a 25 year old Year 1 teacher currently working in an independent primary school in South Buckinghamshire.

I completed a Primary PGCE with a maths specialism in 2020. I am currently completing an education masters in my evenings, focusing on maths confidence in primary children. I have also completed a Geography BSc degree where I achieved a 2:1. All three degrees have been completed at the University of Southampton.

Availability: I have a full, clean drivers license and access to a car so I can tutor from my house or the students.

Willing to travel: 15 miles

Experience: I have worked in Year 1 for the past 3 years, but have experience teaching every primary age group throughout my teaching career. Over the past year, whilst completing my Masters, I have also run a weekly mathematics confidence group with children in KS2. My favourite lessons to teach are Phonics, Literacy and Maths.

I also have seven years of tutoring experience, where I have tutored many children between the ages of 12 and 17 in Maths. Each of my students achieved at least a grade higher in their GCSE’s than their school had originally predicted.

Overall, my experience has led me to be an exciting, passionate and fun teacher who is able to create an engaging learning environment that allows every child to succeed.
