My name is Anu, and I am a qualified full-time Maths teacher with six years of teaching experience for various levels from KS2 to GCSE (9-1) covering relevant new scheme of work.
I graduated with a first-class BSc degree in the field of Maths. I have an active life-long commitment to tutoring Key Stage 2/3 and GCSE students for over six years. As a maths teacher, I have worked in secondary schools in London.
In my first session of tutoring, I discuss with you and ask you questions on what you are comfortable with, what you help with, any topics you need to recap, etc. I will explain topics with step by step examples as well as real-life examples, so you understand why you also need maths in real life.
I am very patient and I want to show you how to tackle problem-solving questions easily. Most of my lessons are fun and engaging as I don`t like it when Maths is boring! Now and then, I will give you a difficult question for you to practise and I`ll guide you in the right direction to answer correctly. The purpose of providing you with some difficult questions is to boost your confidence when answering tricky questions in the exam. I like explaining examples with images and visual representations if only you prefer that way.
Please note if you have a question outside of tutoring hours, this is not a problem for me. I am willing to help you at any time. For example, I have had parents contact me the day before their daughter`s test asking for advice. I have also had parents/students struggle when choosing the best secondary school/sixth form colleges to apply to, and using my knowledge and experience, I have advised accordingly.
I am more than happy to help if you are interested.
