I`m warm and friendly, confident and capable. Music has always been my first love and I`ve been in the profession for 40 years as a teacher, performer, composer, lyricist, teacher-trainer, adjudicator and consultant. I teach in a comfortable music room in my house in north Islington. My teaching experience is extensive. I`ve worked with individuals aged 3-93, and with groups of 2-200. I started teaching 40 years ago and I`ve spent many years writing music books and online materials for students to learn music from. I`ve taught music A level, music GCSE and theory at all levels. I`m passionate about music and I love to impart my knowledge. I have a natural empathy with pupils and love to find different ways to explain, approach and show solutions. Every student is different and has individual needs, and I adapt accordingly. Lessons have to be enjoyable for both of us. I`m a very committed teacher and I expect similar commitment in return, but my feet are firmly on the ground and I understand the many other pulls that students face these days.
