Information about Kiran
Many students find maths quite difficult to grasp and even may dislike it for that reason! It can seem alien and not based in anything real. My goal as a teacher is always to make maths accessible to you - to show you where the idea comes from and how we turn that idea in to a method that makes sense to you. Maths is logical and based in common sense and reasoning - if the first explanation doesnt make sense to you, well try it a different way with a different method.
On top of that logic, well build in problem solving skills as we go along ... because thats the aim, to use maths to solve real world problems. Ill teach you to be resilient - to not give up when you see a hard problem, but use all the tools in your maths tool box to find a way in and start unpicking the trail thats been set for you.
Willing to travel: Home Only
Experience: Secondary school maths teacher of 20 years experience. Year 7 to Year 13. GCSE and A Level. Teaching experience in all exam boards.
As an ex-Head of Maths Department I have written the maths curriculum for all year groups - which means I have a thorough knowledge of how your child should be progressing through all maths topics.
I am considered an expert at ensuring students meet their GCSE target grade, with many years of excellent results as evidence.
