I am a specialist, results-driven English tutor with over four years of experience and a proven track record of helping 200+ students achieve top grades. I am fully qualified across all major UK exam boards — AQA, Edexcel, OCR.
I am not an average tutor. I work exclusively with high-achieving students in Years 10–13, and my tuition is specifically designed to push exceptional students to the very top of the grade range. Please read the following criteria carefully before enquiring:
I only accept GCSE students currently working at Grade 7 or above
I only accept A Level students currently working at Grade B or above
I do not accept students retaking exams
I do not teach SEN/SEND students
I do not teach below Year 10 under any circumstances
If you are looking for a tutor to bring a struggling student up to a pass, I am not the right fit. My services are reserved exclusively for motivated, high-achieving learners with the ambition and ability to secure Grades 8–9 at GCSE and A* at A Level.

Where do I even start? Maria has changed me completely as a person, both academically and mentally. I had a huge lack of confidence when I started my English Combined course. However, Maria managed to evoke poise within me, resulting in a jump in my grades. One of the most important things Maria believes in is that everyone is capable of the best, they just have to give it a go. Thanks to her, I went from a C to now being predicted an A (and not having a large sense of dread with my exams coming up). She helped me in so many ways and I will forever be thankful.

My daughter is studying for her English A level and while this is the subject she enjoys the most and wants to go on to study at university, ironically it’s the one she struggles with the most! Her challenge has been knowing how to structure her writing and understand what the examiners are looking for so that she can pick up marks. Maria has been excellent, explaining everything so clearly, building her confidence and going to the root of the issue. We can’t rate her highly enough and Miranda has really enjoyed working with her!

Maria has been an absolutely exceptional English tutor for my daughter Maya.
