Sohail

Born in the US and living in Europe for nearly two decades, Sohail is a graduate of UC-Berkeley and has worked with students at some of the best schools in New York, London, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Istanbul over the last 20 years. Beyond teaching, he has consulted companies on their online tutoring setup and is designing an online education platform that has led to relationships with universities and companies in the US, Europe and Middle East. He is also a film director and screenwriter and has written two feature-length screenplays, set in Rome and Istanbul. He loves to philosophize about art, history, politics, science and good food.

Experience: Sohail has tutored, taught in the classroom, and created content for some of the best schools and education companies in New York, London, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Istanbul. In total, he has 20 years in-person and 12 years online tutoring experience in the most competitive education markets.

He is an industry-expert in online tutoring and has taught over a hundred students online in five continents for advanced Math, Physics and test prep as well as trained tutors and consulted companies to setup or improve their online tutoring operations. 

Over the last two decades, he has prepared countless students for admission to Ivy League and Oxbridge universities, created and taught a specialized course at Columbia University, worked for some of the top tutoring companies in New York and London, and tutored students attending Eton and Harrow in the UK as well as Brearley, Packer Collegiate, Saint Ann’s, and other reputable schools in New York. 

He has worked with students in advanced subjects that require extensive writing and problem-solving (e.g. A-Level Further Maths, AP Calculus, IB Math HL) using his own system of live, online tutoring since 2008. This was long before online tutoring companies had emerged and he has helped some of these companies come into existence, such as ArborBridge (www.arborbridge). 

He specializes in standardized tests and programs and academic subjects: Maths, Further Maths and Physics for GCSE and A-Level; all areas of the SAT and ACT; Math and Physics for AP and IB; GMAT and GRE quantitative; and all academic Maths subjects up to and including Multi-Variable Calculus.
