Information about Nicola
I am an enthusiastic teacher who has worked in several extremely successful secondary schools. I am currently Faculty Leader for humanities in an excellent 11-18 school. As such I am fully up to date with the most recent changes to examination specifications and am very experienced in teaching history across all key stages and abilities.
Availability: I am available weekends and weekday evenings.

Experience: I have over 15 years experience in teaching history in two successful 11-18 comprehensive schools. I currently teach across all abilities and key stages. I am also an examiner at GCSE and A Level for several examination boards, thus am fully aware of exam requirements and techniques needed to succeed. My results since I began teaching in 2001 have been outstanding at all key stages. For example, I regularly achieve 100% A*-C at A Level with cohorts of over 30 pupils. I tailor my sessions to the individual in order to maximise achievement. I like to ensure focus on examination technique as well as content. I always try to develop discussion within my sessions and encourage students to explain their views and draw conclusions.

Great tutor, very organised. We used Nicola for a few last minute sessions to help my daughter with her A Level history. She was knowledgeable both with content and exam technique, and gave my daughter a lot of confidence going into the exams. She was very flexible with fitting sessions in and was always very quick at responding to any questions we had. She planned lessons in advance and contacted my daughter to make sure she knew what would be covered optimising time, she gave great feedback of where things could be improved. I would 100% recommend Nicola.
