I am a Biologist, very passionate about science. I am multicultural and open-minded. Italian and Spanish are both my native languages. I am very passionate about teaching and strive to make every learning session special!

Experience: I have 15+ years of experience as a private tutor. I have a PhD and an MSc in Biology/Medical entomology/parasitology. My passion for teaching prompted me to study for and obtain a PG Cert in Higher Education/teaching. I spent 2 years working as a professional teacher in a high school in Italy and in rural areas in Mozambique. For the last 3 years I worked as a researcher and lecturer at the University, and I have plenty of experience teaching online or face-to-face. I tailor the sessions depending of the student`s needs.
The session can be very practical, solving problems and exercises or we can go through the theory together. I try to make the lessons fun and entertaining, giving practical examples of how science impacts our world and everyday activities.
I am very flexible and I can accommodate all student requests. We can schedule together a plan and modify it along the way.

Very professional - I was very impressed that Manuela really asked questions to be enable her to work out my child’s learning style, needs and preferences etc and she really listened to all the answers and was able to match her teaching style to my child’s needs. Very patient - answers any questions really clearly and makes sure the answers are understood before moving on to the next topic. I would highly recommend her.

Manuela is an exceptional Spanish teacher. My children (5 and 7) really enjoy their lessons. Manuela is innovative in the way that she teaches my girls, who enjoy arts and crafts. They`ve already done many creative projects which capture the girls` interest and encourage them to learn Spanish. Manuela is friendly and professional. I would not hesitate to recommend Manuela to anyone considering choosing her as a tutor.
