Information about Sonya
I have taught from KS3-5 and have previously worked for Dulwich tutors, providing tutoring support for the 11+, prior to beginning my teach first placement which I completed in 2018.
The range of texts I have taught includes the following: An Inspector Calls, Pigeon English, A Christmas Carol, The strange case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, Of Mice and Men, Beowulf, Oliver Twist, Macbeth, Othello, A Midsummer Night`s dream, Much Ado about Nothing, The Merchant of Venice, AQA power and conflict and love and relationships poetry.
My degree was in English and American Studies so I have a special affinity for American literature and I developed a particular passion for African and African American women`s writing but also enjoyed modules on Victorian literature, American drama, African literature & American drama.
If you`re looking for someone to provide extra support at any stage of your school career, then I look forward to hearing from you.
