Information about Sarah
I bring over 28 years of teaching experience - offering friendly, relaxed personalised learning to each individual learner. I enjoy helping to build confidence and enjoyment through a mix of learning activities including games.
Learners will be welcomed into my home in Newquay with lovely Gannel Estuary views and a garden full of birds and rabbits! Parents will be welcome to stay and sit in the adjoining room.
Availability: I am a Primary School Supply Teacher and have another part time job in Truro. I tutor three evenings a week from 3:30pm - 7:30pm.
I can also be available during the day for home-schooled children or adult learners.
I also offer some sessions during school holidays.

Experience: I have had my BA in Educational Studies with QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) since 1995 and have now had over 28 years of primary school teaching experience
(Years 1- 6 or 5-11 year olds).
I have now been tutoring for over 6 years and enjoy being able to give 1:1 personalised learning sessions.
I have experience teaching children with dyslexia and those with a wide range of barriers to learning.
I can help with Primary aged children in Numeracy, Literacy and Science. I am also happy to consider helping those struggling in secondary school mathematics as well as adult learners.

Sarah has done approx 10 sessions with my son, who before the summer holidays was behind in his reading, spelling and understanding. Sarah highlights each child’s strengths and weaknesses and works with them to achieve their goals, she does this in a fun and supportive manner but at the same time keeping them focused on the task at hand. My son is now two book levels above where he was and actually enjoys his reading and spellings. I can not recommend Sarah enough. If your child needs some help then look no further. Thank you Sarah

Sarah has been helping our daughter with some SATS revision, which has been going really well. Our daughter feels at ease with Sarah and is enjoying her sessions.

Sarah is wonderful. Our son has already in a relatively short period of time become more confident with maths. He is also reporting that he is finding the maths lessons fun, which is great.
