Information about Victoria

If you want fun, inspiration and great results then look no further. I am a professional freelance cellist and
have been teaching for 20 years. I love what I do and so could you, so why not give it a go?!
I’m now teaching online using Zoom and currently teach cello for Kent College and Croydon High School, hace students at Canterbury Christchurch University and privately from my home in Canterbury.
I have a professional studio setup with piano, multiple cameras and small compressor microphone.
I teach at all levels from beginner to professional, children and adults and have taught extensively both in the UK and abroad. I’ve taught for amongst others Berkshire Maestros, Southwark Music Service, Barking & Dagenham Music Service, Forest School, Blackheath High, University of Trinidad & Tobago and Bexley Academy of Performing Arts.
I specialise in `ergo-dynamics` - developing a relaxed and well supported technique with a big emphasis on fun!
I am happy to prepare students for exams but am equally happy to just teach for enjoyment without any pressure. I prepare students for both Trinity Guildhall and ABRSM exams, auditions for music schools, music colleges and music courses.
I have experience teaching children with special needs and am a very patient and friendly teacher. Sign up and give it a go!
Online I charge £34 p/h and £18 for 30 minutes. 45 mins can also be arranged on request.
Hope to see you soon!

Experience: My teaching credits include Kent College, Croydon High School, Forest School, Southwark Music Service, 5 years with Berkshire Maestros (Music Centre and local LEA schools), Bexley Academy of Music and the Performing Arts, Blackheath High School, and Prendergast School in Brockley. I also taught in Trinidad and Tobago for 3 years and was offered the position of Cello Professor with the University of the West Indies in 2011. Whilst in Trinidad I coached the Trinidad and Tobago Youth Orchestra, Saint Augustine Chamber Orchestra and gave masterclasses and outreach workshops throughout Trinidad and Tobago with the Savannah Quartet. I was very proud that one of my student`s was offered a scholarship to Berklee College of Music in Boston USA.

As well as my teaching I have also had a very varied performing career from performing with the Philharmonia Orchestra, Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra, English Sinfonia (Principal Trial) and English National Ballet, to recording sessions for tv adverts and pop stars, weddings, events, recitals and a little bit of everything in between.

I love playing the cello which is why I am still doing it after 30 years! And I love sharing my experience and knowledge. Teaching is a passion of mine and I get a real kick out of helping a budding musician develop. I`ve had an amazingly diverse and interesting life with my `other half` and if you want to too then come along and see what it`s all about!
