I am dedicated and passionate teacher of French with over 20 years’ experience teaching French A Level, GCSE and Key Stage 3 French at James Allen`s Girls` School, as well as Key stage 3 Spanish and Italian. Throughout my career I have consistently achieved A and A* grades for my pupils. I have also conducted and marked many public examinations. I now tutor French and Spanish privately online and in person both to individuals and small groups. I prepare lessons tailored to the individual with a variety of fast paced, enjoyable activities to keep pupils engaged and ensure they progress quickly. I use the latest authentic audio visual resources to accelerate learning and encourage spontaneous language use throughout the lesson. I closely monitor pupils with SEN as well as gifted and bilingual students to adapt to their specific needs. I ensure my students have all the vocabulary, grammatical structures, speaking, writing, listening and reading skills necessary for success. At GCSE and A-Level I do lots of practice examination style questions with my pupils to build their confidence and ensure they master the technique under the pressure of examinations. I also love to incorporate culture into my lessons at all levels, including Art, Music, History, Cinema, Gastronomy and more.

Experience: I have a First Class Honours degree in French and Italian and 25 years’ experience teaching French up to A-Level at leading Independent schools, principally at James Allen’s Girls’ School, named London’s Independent School of the Year in 2024 where I also taught key stage 3 Italian and Spanish. This year I taught French GCSE and A-Level and Spanish Key stage 3 at Worth School. I have also taught both adults and children privately online one to one and in larger groups, as well as in person.
