I am an experienced English specialist teacher with 14 years teaching A level and GCSE in private and state schools. I have also been an external GCSE English examiner for 10 years and can share secrets and tips to boost confidence to pass GCSE.

I have a successful tuition business and tutor evenings and all weekend. I have worked at Bristol and Bath university teaching English.

Last year my students improved their grades by 2 levels and the average result was a level 7 in literature and a level 7 in language. One student raised her grades from 5 to 8 and one student achieved two level 9s.

I specialise in teaching young people who struggle to learn due to mental health problems. I feel that learning is not just about academic results but also about heart. Curiosity and kindness are just as important to me as high grades and correct punctuation.

I have taught thousands of young people over the years but whether in private schools or failing college, most people are the same - whether rich or poor. They want to be seen and heard and respected. This is the greatest lesson.

Availability: I am available in the day, evening and at weekends - both Saturday and Sunday.
I am running weekly workshops for those who would like tuition at a reduced rate of £15. Maximum number is 10 and the workshops will concentrate on how examiners mark your work. This insider knowledge always helps young people to improve their grades.
I also deliver skype lessons at weekends.

I also teach A level candidates and prepare younger students for Sats and entrance exams In the summer I share my expertise teaching English as a foreign language at Bath University.

I am a mother of grown up boys and a life coach. I am an English specialist with a PGCE in English but I am also someone with a vast experience of teaching young people with mental health issues.
