Information about Sara-louise
I am a First Class graduate in History and Sociology, recently relocated to the North West to pursue a PhD in Sociology after receiving a scholarship for a Masters at Durham University. I am a mum of two boys and thoroughly enjoy travelling, mountaineering, art and music in my spare time.
Availability: My availability varies throughout the week, but I am extremely flexible and can discuss your individual requirements.
Willing to travel: 15 miles
Experience: I have varied experience teaching up to university level in Sociology, Critical Thinking classes, summer school, as well as giving lectures in Manchester as part of Ragged University: an independent researching initiative. I have also taught English as a foreign language overseas.
Despite a variety of specialisms, I have a similar approach to all levels of study which is predominantly person centred. I tailor all sessions to the individual based on a number of factors including mode of study and intended outcome. My sessions are informal, friendly and as much about critical thinking as the subject in hand. I opt for alternative approaches which are engaging and help to retain and recall more information. I am also on hand to answer academic related queries outside of timed hours.

Experienced and well qualified tutor in a variety of subjects - English, Sociology, Psychology, Philosophy. She has a positive outlook on life and has been helpful to both my son and myself. She appears to have realistic expectations in to what can be achieved in the time available.
