Information about Laura
I am a primary school teacher with 13 years of experience and still counting!
Outside of teaching, I am a wife, a mum and in my spare time I enjoy long walks, spinning classes, running, hiking and socialising with friends. I like to reach a goal and achieve a challenge. I have been tutoring with Tutor Hunt for 6 years now and enjoy seeing the progress and reward from tutoring a student one to one. I am available to tutor at your home or you can come to my house.
I have lots of experience with working with all year groups from nursery and foundation stage right up to year 6. I enjoy helping children reach their full potential to be what they want to be when they grow up!
I currently teach in a school 2 days a week and so am fully CRB checked through my school and now also through Tutor Hunt. I absolutely love teaching in the classroom it is my passion in life! I can offer year 5 and 6 SATS help, homework help, 11+ tutoring or help and support with any Primary stage/ year group maths, grammar, writing skills, phonics, arithmetic skills, mental maths, problem solving and reasoning, English, handwriting, spelling, reading skills including comprehension and X tables practice.
Availability: Please see my availability. This will need to be negotiated and on a flexible basis as I have a child so will need to find childcare.
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I have over thirteen years of state school teaching experience. I have taught in year 3 for 3 and a half years, before that I was in year 1 then foundation stage. At my current school, I first started in the Early Years Foundation Stage, then I was in Nursery then Year 4, year 1, year 5, year 2 and last year was in year 5 again and this year, i`m back in year 4! I have also worked as a supply teacher across all primary ages from nursery up to year 6 and including special needs, an autistic boarding school and a pupil referral unit.
Currently, I teach 2 days a week at a school in Swindon. I am up to date with the constantly changing curriculum. In my lessons, I like to develop and increase confidence, enjoyment, resilience, independence and instill a purpose and joy for learning for life.
