Information about Emma

I am performing regularly with professional orchestras, such as the London Concert Orchestra, and have previously worked alongside the London Philharmonic Orchestra and the London Symphony Orchestra, keeping me up to speed with the latest developments in performance practice. I began working with children and young people whilst studying at the Royal College of Music, participating and leading various outreach projects with RCM Sparks, and more recently LSO Discovery and LPO Overture, and I have since been inspired to continue in this field. I teach bassoon at Dragon School, Francis Holland School, Notting Hill and Ealing High School for Girls, and Dair House Primary School, and have a portfolio of private pupils in bassoon, clarinet, flute, recorder, piano and saxophone, varying in ability (beginner to diploma) and age range (6-78). I enjoy adapting and differentiating my lessons accordingly, and have a warm, encouraging and professional rapport with my pupils and I am fully DBS checked. My pupils have enjoyed 100% pass rate in ABRSM and Trinity exams, and I take pride in developing their technical skills in sight reading and scale requirements, as well as stylistic points for consideration surrounding attention to pieces and repertoire.

Availability: I am very flexible, and will do all I can to fit in around your schedule

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: I have many private pupils on a variety of instruments around London. I have worked alongside children under the age of 18 at the Royal College of Music Junior Department for over two years, and have played with and coached multiple small ensembles here. Last year, I was given the opportunity to deputise for Tom Hardy at the City of London Boy`s School as part of my degree. Aside from music, I am a keen horse-rider and regularly assist and teach for The Pony Club, working with children between the ages of 12 and 18.
