I am a secondary mathematics specialist and studied this at degree level, which means my knowledge of maths is specific to secondary school level (including A Level). In my ten years of teaching, I have taught a wide range of abilities and this has given me the chance to think of and develop different ways to teach and tutor maths.
I adapt my approach to tutoring depending on the individual and using my expertise, will work with you to try and achieve whatever long or short term targets you may have.

Experience: I have over 10 years experience teaching mathematics across all year groups (year 7 to year 13) at secondary level with class sizes and abilities varying year on year.
My teaching career saw the change from letter grades at GCSE to number grades. With this came a new syllabus and a “new style” of exam questions. This has allowed me to appreciate the differences between the “old style” exam questions and the GCSE course we see now which encourages depth of understanding. As a result, I have a lot of experience teaching from a rote learning perspective as well as for problem-solving skills and deep understanding.
