Information about Aaron
I tutor Maths and Physics up to A Level, including Further Maths and 11+. Through my career as a secondary Maths teacher I have learnt to teach students of all abilities, whether I am stretching a student hoping to achieve a top grade, or supporting a student to develop a foundation of understanding.
I enjoyed learning Maths, Physics and Geology at university, though what I loved most was the opportunity to teach and inspire others during outreach events and university field trips. This is what inspired me to pursue a career in education.
Availability: Saturday morning and Sunday mornings or evenings, flexible during holidays.
Willing to travel: 15 miles
Experience: I have been a Maths teacher in Oxfordshire for 3 years, and a tutor for 6 years. I have gained a wealth of experience with a range of students through working in private, comprehensive and SEND schools. I have a PhD in Geology from the University of Aberdeen and a Masters in Natural Sciences from the University of Cambridge which included modules in Geology, Maths, Physics and Material Science.
When teaching I use sketches and demonstrations to illustrate concepts, I work through examples while constantly questioning to understand the progress the student is making. Maths and Physics provide a fundamental understanding of the way the universe works so it is important to instill curiosity in these subjects and encourage deeper investigation.
