Information about Emma
I am a recent graduate of King`s College London (Comparative Literature, First Class Hons) with a wealth of teaching experience in both traditional classroom settings and in a 121 tutoring/mentoring format. My specialism is in English Literature which I tutor up to and including undergraduate level, however, I also teach a variety of subjects at lower levels. I have both an excellent personal academic record, having consistently attained first-class grades during my degree and even having essays published, and a supportive approach to teaching. I create a tailored lesson plan for each of my students based on their personal targets with the goal of improving confidence, depth of understanding and engagement with their studies. Students are also strongly encouraged to share written work with me, such as practice essays and tests, so I can provide detailed feedback on the structure, argument, accuracy and clarity of their writing.
For degree-level students, or secondary school students writing extended essays (EPQ, arts and humanities coursework etc.), I also offer a proofreading and feedback service to help my students tighten or expand their arguments, perfect their grammar and syntax and submit work they`re proud of.
