Information about Tom
I completed my A levels in 2015 achieving A*AA in Maths, Chemistry, and Physics respectively, with an AS in Biology. I am, therefore, very familiar with the latest A level and GCSE syllabuses and feel extremely confident in these subjects in particular. I graduated with a first class MEng from the University of Manchester (2020) subsequently completed an MPhil in nuclear waste immobilization chemistry (2021) at the University of Leeds. I now work as a data scientist at Nomura bank. I am able to teach Maths, Chemistry, Physics and computer science at any secondary school level.
In my spare time, I play Rugby, Tennis and am an avid science fiction fan.
Availability: I am available in evenings and weekends, i can travel throught southwest london
Willing to travel: 2 miles
Experience: I had experience tutoring my younger cousin through GCSE maths and chemistry last year and really enjoyed watching her make progress and achieve good results.
I have competed in many extra-curricular science events such as winning gold in the UK Chemistry Olympiad, gold in the C3L6 Cambridge Chemistry Challenge and competed in a team which reached the national final of the Royal Society of Chemistry schools` analyst competition. My extensive experience in extra-curricular science would lend itself especially well to helping with GCSE and A level EMPAs and ISAs. I would also feel very comfortable in tutoring pupils in preparation for competitive university interviews, including Oxbridge applications where I could provide some preparation for off-the-syllabus ideas which are not covered at school.
