Information about Giovanna

Down to earth person, yet methodical and detail oriented.
I believe in education and languages as a tool to access better opportunities, especially for children.
I am passionate about grammar and reading, I love taking pictures, watching independent movies and going for art exhibitions.
While relaxed at the beginning, I establish why the person wants to learn that specific subject and what outcome they are looking to achieve.
Once this has been established and agreed, I become passionate about results as much as the client: their achievement is mine too.
I take pride in what I do and would be available for extra support to boost confidence if needed.

Availability: Monday and Friday all day.
Weekends if flexibility is needed.

Willing to travel: 1 miles

Experience: After my Masters in Art, I worked for a multicultural organisation that supports foreign women from difficult backgrounds into employment and education; I taught Italian to the adults and helped the children with their homework and English lessons for one year.
After that experience, I moved to the UK; one of my first jobs was teaching art to pre-schoolers and teaching Italian speaking lessons to children whose parents are bilingual.

Here in London, I worked at the Natural History Museum where I was part of a team specialised in guides for children on the autistic spectrum.

During the summer term I work as a free-lancer teaching art classes for small and disadvantaged communities.

In August 2021 I studied at the South East London college, teaching English to pre and upper intermediate levels adults and young adults, and obtained the CELTA qualification that allows me to teach English as a second language.

I currently privately tutor a student and teach art to a small group of kids on Friday afternoons.
On weekdays I work in a local SEND school as a learning support assistant.
I am currently teaching ESOL in a local college three days a week.
