I am an experienced Classics teacher in both the state and independent sector. I have a first class honours degree in Classics from the University of London
Availability: Throughout the school holidays and in term time too
Willing to travel: 5 miles
Experience: I have taught Latin and Greek for 20 years in three different schools, from Common Entrance and Scholarship level, to GCSE, A level and Oxbridge entrance. I am familiar with all specifications. Over the years have done a considerable amount of private tuition, helping students of varying ages to improve their grades considerably and fostering an enjoyment of the subject.

Jean is a lovely person and a really wonderful teacher. She has been tutoring my daughter in classical Greek. She is very experienced and has invaluable knowledge of what`s required for the Greek exam. She structures the lesson to meet the needs of the student and covers everything in detail. She is always enthusiastic and encouraging; and has hugely improved my daughter`s confidence.
Quoted by my daughter: "Jean always makes sure that I understand each grammar point. She gives useful advice at the end of the lesson. She is always patient and understanding. She tests my knowledge in a variety of ways. She is always friendly and enthusiastic".
I can`t thank Jean enough and would not hesitate to recommend her as a tutor. Some teachers are inspirational, and Jean is definitely one of those.
