I initially assess pupils to discover precisely what their need is, to find out what they love, where and why they lack confidence and what I can offer. I draw on a wealth of resources and experience to create a programme of study that is specific to their needs. I have particular interest in helping children to develop their own ideas and find their own voice, particularly in writing. The aim, simply, is to develop a love of English. I do set homework weekly and mark this so as to develop understanding and practise, as well as to gauge progress. I also email the parent weekly in order to summarise lessons and draw attention either to progress or areas of difficulty. Information about Georgina

I have loved teaching for over 20 years. I have a degree in English Literature and a particular interest in the way in which children write, how they assimilate information, draw inference, interpret story and structure a written text. Whether preparing for Common Entrance, SATS or simply additional support, I offer a wealth of experience.

Availability: 12 hours Monday to Friday.
5 hours at Weekend.

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: My experience ranges from early learners beginning to read and write to eleven year olds preparing for secondary education. I have taught all subjects across the primary phase, including French (I am bilingual).
