Hello!

My name is Emily, I am an English Tutor and Actress - I find that the latter helps with the former a great deal. I am a patient, adaptable and enthusiastic tutor with your child`s best interests at heart.

I am aware of how challenging these past few years have been, especially for young people, and as a result I aim to make all of my tutoring sessions equally productive and enjoyable. I use a variety of resources, and can adapt to fit the needs of my tutees; whether this be more visual aids for younger children, or timed essay practice for GCSE and A Level students.

I`m always open to hearing your thoughts, and have worked in the past on the following parental recommendations:
Having reading aloud time.
Monitoring progress with intermittent testing.
Helping with other homework.
Spelling and grammar practice.

Experience: I have worked as an English tutor for the past seven years, as well as working as an English teacher and Learning Support Assistant in a range of Primary, Secondary and SEN schools across the region. My tutees have varied in age from 8 - 50; from needing general confidence boosting and A level prep, to Adult learners of English.

I have a First class degree in English Language from University of Reading, where I received an entrance scholarship for outstanding A Level results. I was trained as an Actor at Oxford School of Drama, and have worked professionally on stage since 2017. I am also a qualified TEFL tutor, so have an excellent grasp on all aspects of the English Language.
