Information about Heather

I am a full time working artist. I offer fun and informative workshops from my studio as well as travelling to venues and homes. I have worked as a full time professional artist for 15 years and have had a lifelong love of art. I specialise in portraiture but complete a variety of subjects in every medium imaginable in my studio in rural Northamptonshire.
As a child I was badly let down by the education system as far as my art education was concerned, the emphasis was on achademic subjects and I was only allowed to take one art subject, even though I knew I wanted to be an artist.
I then went on to teach myself various different techniques over the next 25 years and won a couple of awards along the way. I take so much pleasure in sharing my studio with budding artists of all ages and love to show them the different techniques I have learnt along my journey.

Availability: I work from my rural studio 6 days a week and students are welcome to join me and create in the open space or under the daylight lights of my studio up until 10 pm at night. I am also available at weekends and given notice can travel out of my studio to help in your own home.

Willing to travel: 10 miles

Experience: I have had a variety of students through my studio doors and have a multitude of positive reviews on [contact detail removed]where I showcase my work as well as show pictures of my students creations. I have had various experiences of people with different needs and I like to think my style of teaching benefits everyone with the desire to learn. Instead of following a curriculum we allow our hands and eyes to communicate effortlessly together to create beautiful artworks in their own individual style. That is so important, to nurture to individuality and help them improve. Literally anything is possible and my art classes are all about reaching your own potential.
Previously I have worked with children with autism, elderly people with dementia and Alzheimer’s, people that are working toward qualifications as well as school children and hobby artists. I have a BTec national diploma in childcare and worked in a nursery school envirnmen5 for 5 years so I like to think that no age or ability is a barrier.
