Information about Lydia
I`m a friendly former Secondary School teacher who is genuinely enthusiastic about helping pupils to achieve their best. I always try to bring some fun and humour to lessons to help engage pupils with the subject matter.

Experience: I have a BA Honours degree (2:1) in English Literature from the University of East Anglia.
I trained as a Secondary English teacher at the University of Reading (PGCE), achieving Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and graduating as `Distinction` in my teaching practice.
I taught English (Language and Literature) to all year groups (Yr 7 to Yr 13) at a Secondary school in Berkshire before moving to Somerset.
I have taught many children of all ages, Primary and Secondary, in my five years as a Learning Manager in heritage education, creating learning programmes across England in a variety of heritage settings.
I began working as a private tutor in 2020.

Lydia has only been tutoring our son for a few weeks now but has already built a great rapport with him and for a 14 yo boy to enjoy English tutoring probably says it all! Lydia is extremely well prepared, provides great feedback reports post each session and is keen to ensure that the lessons marry with work undertaken at school to maximise outcomes. As I say we are early days in the tutoring but at this stage I have nothing more than praise for Lydia and would recommend her if you are looking for a tutor.
