Hello, my name is Sasha, and I am a fully qualified Science (biology) teacher, who has nine years of experience teaching key stage 3 and 4 science to pupils of varying abilities across all of the scientific disciplines. I have taught AQA GCSE trilogy and triple biology and have experience as an examiner for Edexcel (exam marking).

I am available to tutor students in:
• KS3 science
• GCSE AQA trilogy (biology and chemistry)
• GCSE AQA Triple biology

I have high expectations of my students and primarily aim to help them increase their understanding of scientific principles, which can then be applied to exam questions. I think well-balanced sessions are important, therefore I like to go through course content and put it into context, teach exam techniques and apply the knowledge to exam questions and help students come up with strategies to enable them to remember key information.

For the first session I think it’s important to ascertain current strengths and weaknesses and discuss areas you would like to focus on. I want to provide tailored sessions for you so I will use the information gathered to enable me to plan our lessons and create useful resources such as worksheets, quizzes and exam questions to help consolidate your learning.

Availability: I am currently taking a break from teaching in the classroom as I`ve started an online business, therefore I am able to be very flexible and can tutor around your needs.

Experience: I have nine years experience teaching in comprehensive state schools, teaching a range of abilities from triple biology to foundation science. I am able to adjust my teaching style and resources depending on the needs of the student. I like to reinforce my lessons with exam questions, allowing students to apply the information they have just learnt to exam questions. I always provide model answers rather than just the mark scheme. This allows students to evaluate where they have picked up / lost marks. I also like to teach revision and exam techniques, as I feel this is important for exam success as it gives students confidence going into the exams.

Whilst teaching I also offered after school revision classes for students the help them in the lead up to exams.
