Information about David
I have taught English Language and English Literature for over 30 years. For over 25 of these years I taught in a Further Education college in South West London. I taught A Level English Language and Literature and A Level English Literature. I`m familiar with AQA and EDEXCEL syllabuses. For the last 3 years, I`ve worked in a small private school, working with students with special needs. This has widened my teaching experience. I have gained experience and achieved a 2nd I`m now teaching students aged from 8 to 20. I`ve been teaching one to one in classrooms and online.
We`ve just celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary. We have two adult children. I am an enthusiastic and passionate reader of English and Foreign Literature. I have a curiosity about the world and have been writing poetry for all my adult life. I`m regularly invited to perform my own poetry in public. I run two current poetry blogs and occasionally my work is published. I enjoy camping, canoeing, cycling and storytelling. I am sociable, interested in people, God and the world.

Experience: I`ve been a successful and enthusiastic teacher of GCSE English Language and Literature, A level English Literature and A level English Language and Literature, English Literature Standard and Higher Level for the International Baccalaureate, GCSE English Language and Literature, GCSE and iGCSE English Literature and a variety of English vocational course for over 30 years. I`ve also had experience at managing and coordinating, A Level, GCSE and vocational courses. This has involved full class and one to one teaching. I have also run successful creative writing workshops, poetry competitions and edited college literary magazines. I have also been a pastoral and academic tutor for many years. This has involved me supporting students applying for university, diting their personal statements and writing academic references.
I have taught in one of the most successful tertiary colleges in the country for 30 years.
