Hi! I`m Bethany, a qualified teacher with six years` experience.

I have tutored numerous students in KS1-5 History, KS1-4 English and KS1-2 Maths successfully. I have a background in teaching Geography, History, English and Religious Studies in schools. Happily, I can assist adult learners with Functional Skills, evaluation/report-writing, and History.

Exam boards that I am specialised in: AQA, Edexcel. I have taught various History GCSE and A-Level modules in the UK, e.g. Crime and Punishment, Elizabethan England, Cold War, Nazi Germany, French Revolution, Empire.

I`m a warm, focused and reliable educator with a track record of building a student`s passion, confidence, knowledge and abilities. I have plentiful experience teaching SEN/SEMH learners.

I adapt the structure and content of my lessons to what the pupil and their parent/carer need. I assist with homework, entry exams, GCSE and A-Level assessments, coursework, and general skills and knowledge.

I guide students in working out what questions, mark schemes and teachers need. I help students articulate their thoughts and develop their analysis. Using scaffolding techniques, I have stretched their understanding of ideas. Successfully, I have supported pupils in understanding work in subjects that is more complex than their level, allowing them to excel and impress their teachers!

Kids and their caregivers get a lot out of working with me, for they always receive a reliable, positive, productive service.

Experience: As I said, I am a qualified teacher. I have been a teaching for six years across Humanities subjects, in primary, secondary and sixth form settings. I gained excellent GCSEs and A-Levels in Maths and English. My specialism is adapting lessons to SEND/SEMH and hard-to-reach children.

My students have seen excellent progress in their grades and many of my A-Level pupils have been accepted into universities including Oxford and Cambridge. I involve parents in their children`s educating, consulting with caregivers in addition to my own expertise to develop learning strategies. I have adapted my teaching to EAL children well, historically.

When working with SEND children, I am flexible to their sense of pace, be it quick or slow. I accommodate them by breaking down ideas into digestible chunks or gently pushing them to develop their understanding if they like the challenge.

I have an Enhanced DBS (on the update service) and I am First Aid trained.

Altogether, I have practical experience working with a wide range of children, especially in learning environments. I have the qualifications to reinforce my ability as an excellent choice of tutor for your child.
