Information about Bethany

I have recently moved to London and I am working as a teaching assistant.

I am eager to train as a teacher in the near future, which is why I am seeking to build experience tutoring children right now.

I am passionate about kids. My childcare experience dates back a decade. It all began with my school work experience being set in a local primary. I can connect with kids, because while I am able to be serious and get to the task at hand, I am friendly, flexible and I understand children`s perspectives of the world.

Availability: I am available each day of the week after 5pm, except for Thursday!

Willing to travel: 5 miles

Experience: As I said, I am currently a teaching assistant. I work with kids who have special needs in subjects that vary from music to literacy to art to numeracy. I aid in providing sensory input and I am patient and caring in the way that I treat them. I help colleagues in keeping parents knowledgeable of how their child is progressing. I have experience supporting groups of children and on 2:1 and 1:1 bases.

I have spent many hours prior to now in engaging children intellectually and entertainingly. In 2013, I racked up 50 hours as a classroom assistant. I supported the teacher in educating the students on the curriculum and I helped in creating capturing activities. For one such activity for History, I drew and photocopied an image of a Roman soldier, instead of taking a picture from the internet, so that the children could colour it in on a Friday afternoon. In 2015, I spent 10 weeks as a camp counsellor. While I made sure that our campers were safe, I worked with colleagues to invent entertainment for the children. Their ages ranged from 5 to 16. Many had disabilities that we took care of in ways that prioritised the child`s needs, such as by maintaining confidentiality and adapting activities.

Furthermore, I have excellent and applicable qualifications. I am DBS-checked and have training in various aspects of safeguarding and manual handling. I can support your child safely. On top which, I am happy to utilise my education for tutoring. I have a degree in History and A-Levels and GCSEs (all A*-C) in English, Maths, Science, Psychology, Art, et cetera. I am also First Aid trained.

Altogether, I have practical experience working with a wide range of children, especially in learning environments. I have the qualifications to reinforce my ability as an excellent choice of tutor for your child.

If you would like, I can provide references.
