I am a very experienced, enthusiastic English and Drama teacher who has taught in a variety of settings from mainstream comprehensives to private international schools. I have recently been employed by a grammar school where I taught English from Year 7 up to A-Level. As an ex head of department, I have also been an English examiner for AQA.

Having also tutored private students for a number of years now, I really enjoy the positive working relationships and rapid progress fostered by one-to-one tuition. I have a considerable amount of experience tutoring students who want to raise their grades. One of my recent students won a scholarship to university and another student I tutored needed help to pass the entrance test to obtain a place at Eton College.

I am a positive, encouraging and sympathetic teacher, but I also understand the need for excellent results, especially when preparing for examinations or university entrance. I strive to develop confidence in all my students, as that is the first step to success.

I see all students as unique individuals. After a full consultation with the student and parent, I will devise a learning plan to suit their needs and will review progress at regular intervals.

Availability: I am available evenings and weekends.

Experience: My experience ranges from Year 6 to university level in all types of settings including grammar schools. I have worked with highly motivated students seeking to gain access to top universities and less motivated students who have gone on to gain confidence and do equally as well.
