Information about Karen
Teaching is my third career after being a display dresser and nursery nurse. I studied for my degree as a mature student after my children had grown. I have two grown up children that now live away. I’m very keen on keeping fit and like to go to the gym regularly
Availability: Currently only available during the evenings but will be available during the school holidays (have a few dates booked for a break).
Willing to travel: 20 miles
Experience: I worked at the same school for 13 years predominantly teaching food technology but also teaching art at ks3. I also volunteered to enhance handwriting and spelling as part of extra curricular sessions. My degree is a joint art and education studies degree.
I have more recently gained success with students falling behind due to the lockdowns one to one on Bramble.
I use art and creative activities to engage and provide a sense of calm for anxious or disengaged students.
