Haizhu

My name is Haizhu and I am known as Julia by family and friends. I am a native Mandarin speaker and am also fluent in Cantonese. With a first-class degree in Chinese Literature and Language, I am highly educated in Chinese reading and writing. I am a book worm and love to read a variety of subjects which provide me with a broad range of knowledge.

I hold a British master’s degree in international business Analysis. My professional background includes marketing, project management and web design. My recent study area is in counselling as I am passionate about helping others. Through my career and studies, I have developed excellent communication skills and a understanding of different culture and custom and an appreciation of different individuals.

I love learning myself and have always thought Chinese is such a beautiful language. I’d love to share its beauty with the students who are willing to appreciate it. As in line with my counselling training, my approach to teaching is student centred and I am happy to adapt my teaching according to the student’s learning style. My pride will be in seeing the students gaining confidence in learning the language.

In my spare time, I love reading, playing piano, singing, outdoor walking, practising yoga and tending to my small vegetable patch in the garden.

Experience: I have been a prviate tutor in teaching Mandarin since last November. My students enjoy my classes. I am experienced in online teaching which works particularlly well for students who have already learned some Chinese and wish to improve their speaking and reading.
