Hi, I`m James and I`m a PhD Student of English Literature based in Nottingham.

I currently teach English Literature at the University of Birmingham, with a special focus on students following the ERASMUS or Study Abroad schemes, including many non-native speakers.

I can help with all aspects of English tuition, from the study of literature to improving written or conversational English. My experience of setting and marking work at the University level also means I can help with any specific questions you might have about assessments or academic writing.


I regularly participate actively in schools as a teaching volunteer, helping teachers with all aspects of learning from Key Stage 1 and onwards, and hold a full DBS certificate for working with young people.

I`d love to be able to help with any Language, Literature or Literacy tutoring needs - and I`m always happy to discuss where I may be able to help. I`m available for traditional one-to-one tutor sessions as well providing online support and tuition where this is preferred.
