Information about Emma
I graduated from Bristol University with an MEng in Engineering Maths. I decided that an engineering career was not for me so I completed my PGCE and have been teaching maths ever since. I have 17 years teaching experience in schools, the last 8 of those in a 6th form college. I have an excellent knowledge of the current A-Level Maths and Further Maths specifications and have lots of experience with exam style questions.I have been tutoring online since January 2022 and I have deveoped my online teaching skills, using a variety of online resources in my lessons. I have an enthusiasm for maths and I enjoy all aspects of the Maths and Further Maths courses.

Experience: After my PGCE I taught for 9 years in a secondary school, teaching from yr 7 to Yr 13. After this I taught for 8 years in a sixth form college, teaching both Maths and Further Maths. The recent lockdowns have given me a lot of experience teaching online. I left my teaching job at the beginning of 2022 to focus on online tutoring.

As an adult learner and having not studied maths for a long time, I was apprehensive about embarking upon GCSE study. However Emma made difficult concepts easy to understand, and therefore she not only increased my ability to think critically, but also my confidence. Her lessons’ were always well prepared. I have really enjoyed my lessons with Emma, she is an excellent tutor and I would recommend her teaching to students of all abilities!

My daughter has been working with Emma online for a few weeks now on A Level maths. My daughter says Emma’s explanations are really clear and easy to understand. Emma puts in the extra time to re-cap the lesson and they seem to have developed a good working relationship. Very happy.

Emma has been just fantastic with both my children. One doing GCSE and one doing Alevel maths. She is so friendly and encouraging and really helping them both with their confidence and ability.
