Information about Netty
I graduated from University of Bristol in June 2017 in Mathematics with German having spent the last 5 years tutoring alongside my studies. I am now a financial manager trainee for the NHS and am studying for my accounting qualification.
September 2012 to September 2013 I took a gap year, which I used to build up a small tutoring business and to travel around Europe. I then continued to tutor throughout university and even did so whilst living in Germany for a year.
I absolutely adore tutoring, so much so I (ALMOST) considered cancelling my university place and continuing tutoring. I have always had a passion for teaching, even from a young age - I had whiteboards installed in my room when younger! Moreover I am also what would be described as a people person as I am very sociable and love meeting new people.
Availability: Evenings and Weekends.
Willing to travel: 15 miles
Experience: I took a gap year between September 2012-September 2013 in which I set up a small tutoring business. In this year, I tutored 7 pupils: -I tutored 2 of these pupils every school day for the whole year and consequently became very close to the family. So much so, that we are maintaining regular contact and I have been asked to work there during the holidays. They are aged 8 and 10 and I tutored in SATS. This led to the elder going from a level 3 to a high level 5 in her year 6 SATs and the younger, achieving the level expected for someone in the year above. -I tutored another 2 of these pupils from January 2013-Sepetember 2013 every Sunday evening. Again, I formed a close relationship and have been asked to return when at home. They are aged 7 and 9 and I tutored across the board. This lead to the elder being moved up maths groups. - 3 of these pupils were GCSE Maths students and they all contacted me asking for tuition after hearing about me, which was good word-of-mouth. They all passed and achieved higher than predicted. It even led to one of them choosing maths for A-level.
I have since tutored several more students including a pilot needing maths for his license a GCSE student who went from a level 5 to a level 8 an a German girl wanting to continue learning English, and many others!
